开启创意编程之旅！孩子们将学习计算思维与计算机概念。用MakeCode创建代码，带你进入编码世界！学生将认识代理人，学习移动、使用物品，并迎接建筑挑战。设计编码城市、创建公园、动物园和风力发电场。学习编码思维和解决问题，打造独一无二的Minecraft城市！
CS 02 ，Coding Fundamentals- Focus on STEM无需编程基础，每周两次课,一次1.5小时
适合年级：四年级和五年级
基本要求：较强的英文阅读能力和逻辑思维能力，无需编程基础
学生将专注于发展和运用编码概念，如循环、条件语句和程序调试，通过分析不同数据来源的可信度来建立在数字环境下科研的流畅能力，并在Code Builder中解决问题和完成任务。学生将有多个机会合作，并在多人游戏中互相提供反馈。课程分五个独立主题，专注不同的STEM科学方向：

Ascend Advanced Academy – 2026 Summer Computer Science Programs
Ascend Advanced Academy (AAA) leverages many years of experience teaching computer programming to elementary and middle school students to proudly launch its 2026 Summer Computer Science Program Series, designed for learners of different grade levels and experience levels.
The curriculum focuses on developing students’ hands-on skills, open-ended problem analysis, and systematic problem-solving abilities, guiding them to apply prior knowledge in real-world contexts while building strong engineering thinking and computational thinking.
The courses use Microsoft’s official professional 3D learning platform, Minecraft Education Edition, combined with a Project-Based Learning approach to systematically introduce core computer science concepts.
Through a series of challenging projects, students will continuously strengthen their creativity, logical reasoning, and programming communication skills, while gaining early exposure to fundamental artificial intelligence concepts and applications, laying a solid foundation for advanced computer science study and future competitions.
CS 01 — Computing with Minecraft
Schedule: Twice per week, 1.5 hours per session
Recommended Grades: 2–3
Prerequisites:Strong English reading ability and logical thinking skills; no prior programming experience required.
Course Description:Begin a creative coding adventure! Students will learn computational thinking and foundational computer science concepts while using MakeCode to write programs that bring Minecraft worlds to life.
They will meet coding agents, learn movement commands, use tools, and tackle building challenges—designing coded cities, parks, zoos, and wind farms. Through hands-on projects, students develop coding logic and problem-solving strategies while creating their own unique Minecraft worlds.
CS 02 — Coding Fundamentals: Focus on STEM
Schedule: Twice per week, 1.5 hours per session
Recommended Grades: 4–5
Prerequisites:Strong English reading ability and logical thinking skills; no prior programming experience required.
Course Description:Students will focus on core programming concepts such as loops, conditional statements, and debugging. They will also learn to evaluate the reliability of different data sources and build scientific inquiry skills in digital environments while completing missions in Code Builder.
Collaboration is emphasized through multiplayer activities and peer feedback. The course is organized into five independent thematic units that explore various STEM disciplines:
Unit 1 — Animal Research Center:Six research missions exploring animal habitats, assisting sea turtles, rescuing polar bears, protecting pandas, and studying gray wolves.
Unit 2 — Minecraft Space Center:Six research missions focused on space exploration, collecting materials from planets across the solar system, and unleashing creativity.
CS 03 — Coding with Minecraft: Focus on Programming
Schedule: Twice per week, 1.5 hours per session
Recommended Grades: 6–7
Prerequisites:No prior programming experience required.
Course Description:This Minecraft coding course is designed for sixth- and seventh-grade students. Participants will strengthen essential programming concepts including events, coordinates, variables, conditional statements, functions, loops, arrays, and artificial intelligence.
Students will work extensively within Minecraft: Education Edition, gaining repeated opportunities to learn, practice, and apply these ideas. The course uses the “Blocks of Grass” world as a coding sandbox, where students visually observe their progress through physics-based projects and construction challenges.
Each session culminates in an independent project that allows students to demonstrate newly acquired knowledge and skills.

Instructor Biography — Mr. Ma
Mr. Ma holds master’s degrees in Computer Science and Molecular Biology and spent more than 15 years working as a programming algorithm and quantitative strategist at leading Wall Street investment banks, including Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, and Bank of America.
His educational journey began in 2017 at his own dining table, where he started coaching his two children and their classmates in elementary-level math competitions. What began as a casual effort quickly evolved into a lifelong mission: to nurture young minds and ignite intellectual curiosity.
Today, Mr. Ma mentors numerous students who excel in national mathematics and programming competitions across the United States. He is widely recognized for his ability to explain complex concepts clearly and engagingly, with a strong emphasis on logical reasoning, real-world problem solving, and competition readiness. His encouraging, discussion-based teaching style has earned the trust of both students and parents.
